The UK airline is introducing free fast onboard wifi through satellite agreement

Flyers flying with the airline are set to enjoy quick internet during flights without charge after a major agreement involving SpaceX's communications company.

No-cost plus High-speed Wifi Available to Everyone

The airline stated that the no-cost, “quick and reliable” internet service through SpaceX becomes offered to passengers flying economy, business, and premium cabins starting the coming month.

Broad Rollout Throughout Several Carriers

The umbrella organization of BA, the airline group, confirmed it had secured an deal with SpaceX to offer internet services on more than 500 jets within its carriers, which also include Aer Lingus, Iberia, plus the low-cost airline.

Uninterrupted Internet from Boarding to Arrival

BA explained that this rollout for this technology formed part of a seven billion pound “transformation” program and will offer uninterrupted wifi coverage to travelers starting at boarding to arrival, including when they are flying across seas or far-off locations.

Passengers can connect numerous gadgets while won't need to need a separate password.

“Gamechanging for British Airways and travelers, enhancing their experience onboard on BA through providing passengers smooth wifi throughout the flight.”

Current Internet Services

Restricted wifi service is currently available for British Airways travelers on most of its aircraft via the .air service.

Enrollees in BA’s frequent flyer program may send messages plus text-based emails in the air without paying, whereas travelers looking to watch audio, movies, or movies during their travel and are not flying in premium cabins may pay between four pounds ninety-nine to £21.99 for a wifi bundle.

Starlink maintains a network of many thousands with spacecraft which is operated under SpaceX’s aerospace firm.

Ongoing Improvements for the Airline

The airline's leadership have been working to turn the airline back following a long time of cost cutting, IT problems, strikes, and large-scale layoffs.

British Airways noted that use of smart technology contributed to the airline to achieve the airline's on-time performance to peak performance from over a decade ago.

Financial Performance

Earlier this year, the carrier announced a rise in operating profits for H1 of the year, helping to push IAG’s profit upward.

International Airlines Group will report the financial performance for the quarter this summer soon.

Additional Starlink Deals

This update comes shortly after telecom operator Virgin Media O2 revealed it was working alongside the satellite provider to improve cellular service in the countryside across the United Kingdom, by allowing consumers to easily hook up handsets via space-based systems in the absence of traditional network coverage can be found.
