Aircraft Twirls Out of Control into Palm Fronds at Popular California Beach
A helicopter flying over a crowded coastal coastline abruptly started spinning wildly, ultimately losing altitude and crashing into a cluster of palm fronds as spectators looked on.
Recordings uploaded on social media show the helicopter beginning to twirl over Huntington Beach then plunging near the perimeter of the coast, where it gets stuck amidst palm groves and a set of stairs adjacent to the shoreline route.
Rescue Operation Information
The Huntington Beach fire department said five people were transported to a medical facility involving two individuals who were in the aircraft and were “rescued from the debris” after the crash on Saturday.
Three individuals on the street were harmed. Details on their condition were still under review.
The reason for the accident was not yet disclosed.
